Children’s privacy notice
Your learning belongs to you.
We help keep it private.
This page explains, in simpler words, what happens to information about you when you use Open Potential.
What is personal information?
It is information that is about you. On Open Potential this can include your name or nickname, age, chosen subjects, answers, drawings or files, progress, messages and the help you ask for.
Why do we use it?
We use it to open your learning space, show suitable lessons, save your work, remember what you have completed, help your parent see how learning is going and keep the platform safe.
Who can see it?
Your parent or responsible adult can see and manage your learning profile. A teacher or authorised Open Potential team member may see information they need to teach, review work, provide support or keep someone safe. We do not make your learner profile public.
When the Potential Guide helps
The guide may use a connected service to prepare an explanation. We send only what is needed for that question. Open Potential does not keep a recording of your voice.
Your choices
You can ask your parent to help you see or correct information about you. If something feels wrong, worrying or too personal, stop and tell a trusted adult. You can also use the platform’s reporting route.
Keeping information safe
Keep your PIN private and do not share personal details, passwords, addresses or private pictures in lesson answers or messages. Sign out when using a shared device.
Questions
