Code of conduct

Be kind. Be ready.
Keep learning safe.

This code applies to learners, parents, teachers, staff and visitors taking part in Open Potential activities.

Respect

Treat everyone with patience and dignity. Bullying, discrimination, intimidation, sexualised behaviour, threats and deliberately humiliating language are not acceptable.

Safe communication

Use only approved Open Potential accounts and channels. Adults must not seek private contact with a learner, request unnecessary personal information or move a conversation to a personal social-media, messaging or email account.

Live classes

Join using the correct account, from a suitable shared or learning space, and follow the teacher’s instructions. Do not record, photograph or share a session without clear authorisation. Parents should remain aware of sessions and be available when appropriate.

Learning honestly

Submit your own work, acknowledge sources and use the Potential Guide to understand rather than disguise copying. Mistakes are part of learning and should never be mocked.

Privacy

Do not share passwords, addresses, private contact details, images or another person’s work. Only upload content you have permission to use.

Concerns and consequences

Report unsafe or inappropriate behaviour promptly. Open Potential may warn, remove content, end a session, restrict contact or suspend access while a concern is reviewed. Safeguarding concerns may be referred to the appropriate services.
