One platform, three clear views

Everyone sees what they need—not everything at once.

Parents remain in control, learners get a focused space of their own, and teachers work within a bounded teaching area. Access is separated by role and learner permissions.

01

For parents

Plan, choose and stay informed.

  • Create a private profile for each child
  • Choose subjects and allocate included studio features
  • Set learning days, workbook length, goals and rewards
  • Record strengths and helpful adjustments in a Learning Passport
  • Review completed work, uploaded evidence and progress
  • Move safely between the parent and learner spaces
Available
02

For learners

A calm space made for learning.

  • See assigned and package-available subjects
  • Follow prepared lessons and save work as they go
  • Use read-aloud, smaller hints and alternative explanations
  • Return to completed work and achievements
  • Create in Art Studio or Coding Studio when enabled
  • Collect a curriculum-linked curiosity after completed workbooks
Some features depend on access
03

For teachers

Teach with useful boundaries.

  • Work from a dedicated teaching workspace
  • Use the approved lesson library rather than unrestricted publishing
  • Support classes and scheduled live teaching
  • Keep family learning and teacher administration separate
  • Work with curriculum-linked material and learner evidence
  • Leave platform-wide approval and safety controls with administrators

What the system can do

More than a list of lessons.

Open Potential connects preparation, delivery, support and review while keeping important decisions visible to an adult.

01

Build a learner profile

Age, current school year, subjects, family choices and practical learning preferences shape what appears.

02

Start from a gentle baseline

Short, low-pressure activities help identify a sensible starting point. Answers save so families can pause.

03

Deliver prepared workbooks

Learners receive structured lesson material, worked examples, questions and marking guidance only after quality checks pass.

04

Offer bounded help

The learning guide can read aloud, provide a hint or explain an idea differently without diagnosing or reducing expectations.

05

Capture more kinds of evidence

Typed answers, maths responses, uploaded paper work and completed activities can contribute to a fuller picture of learning.

06

Make room for creativity

Package-controlled Art and Coding Studios let children make and save projects alongside curriculum learning.

07

Show progress without ranking

Completed work, stars, achievements and readiness indicators focus on the individual learner—not sibling comparisons.

08

Support multiple curricula

A shared lesson library can be mapped to approved curriculum standards, avoiding unnecessary duplicate lessons.

How it does it

From family choice to completed work.

The system separates curriculum mapping, lesson preparation and learner delivery so unfinished content does not reach a child.

  1. 1
Set upA parent creates the learner and selects the right year, subjects and access.
  2. 2
MatchThe platform finds curriculum and age-appropriate material for that learner.
  3. 3
PrepareA learner-specific version is assembled with complete examples, questions and guidance.
  4. 4
CheckAutomatic quality gates withhold incomplete or malformed work rather than showing it.
  5. 5
LearnThe learner works at a manageable pace, saves progress and asks for bounded support.
  6. 6
ReviewCompleted work returns to the family record for reflection, evidence and next steps.

Safety, privacy and trust

The child remains at the centre of every learning decision.

Open Potential is designed as a family-controlled learning platform, not an automatic substitute for a parent, teacher or professional judgement.

A clear view of availability

What is live, controlled or still growing.

Availability can vary by account, package, learner age and the preparation status of the lesson library.

Available

Family and learner foundations

Profiles, baselines, subject access, learning plans, completed work, evidence, Learning Passports and family controls.

Access dependent

Studios and live teaching

Art Studio, Coding Studio and live teaching appear only when included, allocated or booked for that learner.

Being prepared

Expanded curriculum libraries

The England pathway is being strengthened while official Jamaican curriculum material is mapped and prepared. Other countries can follow through the same reviewed process.

Common questions

Useful answers before you share it.

Is Open Potential a school?

No. It is a learning platform that helps families organise, deliver and review learning. Parents remain responsible for their child’s education, and professional or legal advice remains separate.

How is learning support kept appropriate?

Support is bounded by the learner’s curriculum, age, family choices and platform quality rules. Lessons with incomplete examples, questions or marking guidance are withheld rather than released.

Can every child use every subject and feature?

Not automatically. The family’s package, the learner’s age, assigned subjects and parent allocations determine what appears.

Can teachers use it too?

Yes. Teacher access is designed around a bounded workspace, approved content and scheduled teaching rather than unrestricted administration of the whole platform.

Which curricula are supported?

The platform is designed for multiple curriculum pathways. The Curriculum for England is the current foundation, with Jamaica’s National Standards Curriculum being added through reviewed official sources. Further regions are planned.
